SHENZHEN, 3 November 2026 — Shenzhen June Electronics has published a fitment guide for Tesla tire pressure sensors, addressing a problem that has become routine in workshops: identifying whether a given vehicle uses the newer 2.4GHz Bluetooth (BLE) system or the earlier 433MHz radio system before a replacement sensor is ordered.
Tesla did not change protocols across the range at once. The transition rolled out model by model over roughly twelve months, which means two vehicles registered in the same year can require different sensors. Because both types are compact black sensors on a metal valve stem, the difference is rarely visible once a wheel is assembled.
| Model | Build period | TPMS type |
|---|---|---|
| Model 3 | Before October 2020 | 433MHz radio |
| Model 3 | October 2020 – present | 2.4GHz Bluetooth (BLE) |
| Model Y | All cars, from launch October 2020 | 2.4GHz Bluetooth (BLE) |
| Model S / Model X | Pre-refresh body | 433MHz radio |
| Model S / Model X refreshed | June 2021 / October 2021 – present | 2.4GHz Bluetooth (BLE) |
The boundary is a build date rather than a model year, a distinction that accounts for a large share of incorrect orders. A car sold as a 2021 model may have been built before the switch.
The separation is physical, not a firmware setting. A 433MHz sensor broadcasts on a fixed UHF frequency; a Bluetooth sensor runs a 2.4GHz Low Energy stack that pairs with the vehicle. No programming tool converts one into the other, and no relearning procedure will bring a 433MHz sensor onto a Bluetooth car. The typical symptom of a mismatch is a single wheel showing a blank value while the other three report correctly.
With both generations present in most markets, the practical response is to stock both and label bins by build date rather than model year. The company recommends testing one sensor from each batch on a known Bluetooth car and a known 433MHz car before shipping, recording the VIN or original part number on every Tesla order, and keeping the two generations in separate bins.
Shenzhen June Electronics supplies TPMS sensors, diagnostic programming tools and parking aid systems to tire shops, distributors and fleet operators. Its Tesla-compatible Bluetooth sensor range covers Model 3 built from October 2020, all Model Y, and refreshed Model S and Model X, and is supplied with the OE cross-references listed above. Fitment should be confirmed by VIN before volume orders.
